Michael L. Iosua Appointed to Kahuku Medical Center Board of Directors
The Hawaii Health Systems Corporation ("HHSC") has appointed Michael L. Iosua to the board of directors for Kahuku Medical Center (“KMC”), a nonprofit, critical access hospital. KMC is the only facility operating along Oahu’s North Shore and Ko`olauloa areas, serving communities from Kualoa to Waimea. KMC provides hospital inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services, including a 24-hour emergency room, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapy, social services, and dietary services. HHSC is the sole member of KMC, and has responsibility for filling the KMC board.
Mr. Iosua serves as the Director of Imanaka Asato’s Governmental Affairs group and represents clients on a broad range of legal issues, including healthcare and healthcare IT policy. Speaking of his appointment, Michael stated, “As the only emergency facility within an hour’s drive of many North Shore and Ko`olauloa communities, Kahuku Medical Center is extremely important to residents and visitors in these areas. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the fine management and staff of KMC to meet the important health needs of our community and look forward to aiding the board in the continued progress of the medical center.”
The KMC board currently consists of seven members. Michael’s initial appointment will be for a four-year term.
